Hi everyone! Well, I must say that I am probably very behind in my training. But I plan on really stepping it up so as not to embarrass anyone in November. :-)
Actually, reading everyone's blogs has been a little inspirational. Amanda emailed me a training schedule earlier and I plan to do my best to follow it. I hope that my next message will convey that.
Rebecca, Wes got me an iPod and sport chip for Christmas last year and I LOVE it! It is the best thing ever. Have you syncronized it with Nike Plus yet? It logs all your runs and keeps track of your pace and allows you to set goals.
Just another short little note to say thank you to everyone for including me in this. I've needed something or someone to light a fire under my backside for quite a while.

Welcome to the team Smash! Don't feel behind, we all started somewhere, and there's plenty of time left to train. Gadgets are awesome, but its really cool that you truely don't need anything to run either. You can just get up and go...you don't even need shoes, necessarily. There's a famous runner Charlie "Doc" Robbins who ran barefoot into his 70s
I just read about that function last night! I'll have to check it out!
Welcome to the blog, Ashley! Make sure you don't push yourself too quickly, because injuries will only slow down your progress. (I am an expert on this!!) I am setting myself a distance to run, and then walking part of it until I can run the whole way comfortably. This way, my achilles tendons are getting used to the distance but aren't feeling the injury pains as they would be if I were just running it the whole way. The way I see it, the malls aren't going to be open for a few hours after we are finished anyway, so what's the hurry! AND, as I have said before, the people at the back of the pack are much friendlier than those at the front!
